This state-of-the-art facility is located just east of the same interchange of I-81 (Exit 20, Spring Mills) as the Spring Mills Towne Center and Spring Mills Towne Center North shopping areas developed by Panhandle Homes’ parent company, Panhandle Builders. And, it is adjacent to a residential area also developed by Panhandle Homes, Hammond’s Mill, where the Hammonds Mill towns and villas are located. This high school is one of the newest examples of the ever-increasing construction activity surrounding this interchange.
Panhandle Homes of Berkeley County, builder of a wide variety of Martinsburg new homes and Berkeley County homes for sale, offers residential housing in 5 separate area developments, all of which will be in this new Spring Mills High School district.
A part of the Spring Mills Educational Campus, this ultra-modern facility is the 4th and final school on the campus and follows the earlier openings of Potomack Elementary, Spring Mills Primary and Spring Mills Middle School, which just opened in the fall of 2012.
With a capacity 1500 students, enrollment is expected to reach 1200 during the 2014-2015 school year. Each and every one of these students at Spring Mills High School will have access to the most up-to-date technology and unlimited opportunities for academic growth and “excellence in education”, the goal of the Berkeley County School Board.
These students, both boys and girls, will also enjoy a full complement of sports activities in fall, winter and in spring – and those will be as varied as swimming, golf, soccer and cheerleading, in addition to other team sports such as basketball, football, and cross country, to mention a few. An 8-lane track and football stadium have also been completed.
This outstanding facility also includes dedicated areas for art, drama, dance, fitness, orchestra, band, and choir – and includes a state-of-the-art stage and auditorium.
With the August, 2013 opening of this new school, the Spring Mills Educational Campus will be complete, an achievement of which all Berkeley County, WV residents can be proud.
